[22.11.2023] Sen Esther Okenyuri participated in the National Dialogue on Gender and Leadership convened by FIDA Kenya with the aim of assessing the current state of gender equality and leadership in Kenya with particular emphasis on women in leadership, assessing the progress made towards realizing gender-responsive policies and legislation and finally raise awareness about the importance of gender equality and inclusive governance as critical components of sustainable development in Kenya.
The Women and Governance programme seek to build the capacity of women; advocate and lobby for favorable laws and policies that are gender responsive, and engage in strategic partnership at international, national, county and community levels.
