Sen Esther Okenyuri, MP joined several distinguished speakers at the 3rd International Conference on Public Health in Africa, (CHPIA), in Lusaka, Zambia on 29th November, 2023. The #CPHIA2023 seeks to delve deeper on Mobilizing Innovation for Health Systems Resilience in Africa.
The 3rd #CPHIA2023 in Lusaka, themed ‘Breaking Barriers: Repositioning Africa In The Global Health Architecture, provided a good platform for #African leaders to define common health problems affecting us, including our Continent’s pandemic preparedness.
The Conference has been hosted by African Union and Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. In Kenya, public health is community centered with a focus on the health need of the community, considering the diverse factors that shape the country’s health outcomes.
CDC Kenya has implanted programs funded by the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDs Relief (PEPFAR), the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), and the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) to address these challenges. Grateful to Africa CDC for convening this conference, which is providing an open, inclusive and safe space for the youth and women to reflect, strategise, network, and brainstorm.
